Member types

• Scientists: researchers, academics, climate experts, etc.
• Policy makers: elected officials, government representatives, political leaders, etc.
• Stakeholders: NGOs, businesses, local communities, citizens, etc.

Membership criteria

• Scientists: publications and recognised expertise in the climate field.
• Policy makers: an active role in climate-related political decision-making.
• Stakeholders: proven engagement in climate actions or initiatives.

Governance

• Steering Committee: composed of representatives of the three member types, in charge of the strategic direction of the platform.
• Working Groups: thematic or sectoral, formed for specific missions (e.g. energy, biodiversity, adaptation).

Meetings and workshops

• Plenary meetings: biannual, to discuss progress and challenges and define priorities.
• Thematic workshops: regular, to deepen specific topics and produce concrete recommendations.
• Training sessions: to strengthen members' competencies on key subjects.

Communication

• Online platform: to share resources, research findings and good practices.
• Newsletters: monthly, to keep members informed of activities and key updates.
• Annual reports: syntheses of activities, impacts and recommendations.

Proposal submission

• Project proposals: submitted by members, evaluated by the Steering Committee on relevance and feasibility.
• Research requests: formulated by policy makers and addressed to scientists for specific studies.

Decision making

• Consensus: favoured on important decisions; otherwise, decision by majority vote.
• Consultation: of stakeholders prior to any major decision affecting a given sector.

Evaluation and monitoring

• Performance indicators: defined to measure the impact of actions and projects.
• Periodic evaluations: to adjust strategies and improve intervention effectiveness.

Conflict management

• Mediation: by a neutral third party in case of conflicts between members.
• Recourse procedures: for members who feel their concerns have not been adequately addressed.

Funding

• Grants: pursuit of public and private grants.
• Partnerships: with academic institutions, businesses and NGOs.
• Membership contributions: possible contributions from members to support platform operations.

Resources

• Human: a coordination team and administrative support.
• Technical: communication and project management tools.
• Documentary: a library of resources, access to scientific databases, etc.

Ethical commitments

• Scientific integrity: ensuring the rigour and independence of scientific work.
• Transparency: open publication of results and decisions taken.
• Accountability: regular reporting on actions and the use of resources.
